# Using Quality Event Suggestions (QMS)

Quality Event Suggestions allows users to streamline prioritization and categorization during the triage stage of a quality process, which can reduce cycle times and assist with workflow routing. You can execute the _Generate Record Suggestions_ action to suggest field values for matching fields and related objects associated with _Deviations_, _Complaints_, or _Nonconformances_, and their associated _Quality Event_ counterparts.

## Generating Record Suggestions

You can generate suggestions by performing the **Generate Record Suggestions** user action on a supported object record. When you execute this action, a dialog displays the _Match Criteria_ with the top suggested match terms for calculating the field and related record suggestions. Under _Match Terms_, you can use the following fields to set your search criteria:

* **Match on All of these Terms**: This field specifies up to 25 terms that matching records must contain. You can click the (x) icon on a term to not use it while searching, or select terms from this field and drag and drop them into the _Ignore these Suggested Terms_ field. You can add terms by typing text into this field to create a more customized search.
* **Match on Any of these Terms**: This field specifies up to 25 terms that Vault uses to search for matching records. You can click the (x) icon on a term to not use it while searching, or use drag and drop on _Suggested Terms_ to move them to the _Ignore these Suggested Terms_ field. You can add _User Terms_ by typing text into the _Match on Any of these Terms_ field to create a more customized search.
* **Ignore these Suggested Terms**: This field displays the _Suggested Terms_ that were removed from the _Match on All of these Terms_ and _Match on Any of these Terms_ fields. You can move a term back to either field by clicking the (+) icon on a single term, or use drag and drop to move multiple terms.
* **Text Comparison Fields**: This field specifies which text fields are reviewed when Vault searches for matching records using the terms in the _Match on All of these Terms_ and _Match on Any of these Terms_ fields.
* **Matching Fields**: This field specifies the exact match fields.
* **Date Comparisons**: This field specifies the timeframe Vault uses when searching for matching records.
* **Lifecycle States**: This field specifies which lifecycle states are evaluated when Vault searches for matching records.

You can run the action multiple times, but if a record suggestion has already been completed or is ongoing, Vault displays a warning message. After you click **Continue**, Vault begins calculating suggestions. Once finished, suggestion icons appear next to suggestion-enabled fields and sections on the record detail page.

If your organization uses the [Quality Automated Language Translations feature](/en/lr/981285/), you may need to translate [supported object records](/en/lr/981284/#supported-objects) before generating record suggestions.

## Applying Field Suggestions

Suggestions, available by clicking the suggestion icon next to a field or section, list the values most typically referenced for a specific field in similar records. When you click the badge, you can accept or dismiss the suggestion. If you accept the suggestion, the record enters _Edit_ mode, the suggested value is added to the record field, and you must click the **Save** button to save the change. Once you accept or dismiss the suggestion, the suggestion icon disappears from the record.

## Related Record Suggestions

Related record suggestions list what related records are most typically referenced in similar records. Click the suggestion icon next to the _Related Object_ section on a record to display a list of potential related records. You can accept or dismiss the suggestion. If you accept the suggestion, the related record is added to the _Related Object_ section. If multiple related records are listed, the badge remains available until you address all remaining suggestions.
