# Configuring Quality Management Reviews (QMS)

QMS supports management of the Quality Management Review (QMR) process, which is an evaluation of the effectiveness and suitability of a quality system. It is a collaborative effort to determine whether the system needs adjustments to meet quality requirements. The QMR object captures the data that is being reviewed during the QMR meeting, meeting notes, meeting attendees, and post-meeting action items.

This article contains basic configuration information to outline an [QMR process](/en/lr/78666/) in your Vault.

## Configuration Overview

Configure the following components to use QMR functionality:

* [Populate the _QMR Scope_ picklist with appropriate values.][1]
* [Configure object page layouts][2] and [custom actions][3] and for the associated objects.
* [Add the record creation action to the appropriate lifecycle states.][4]
* [Create _Management Review Templates_ as needed for your processes.](/en/lr/78666/#creating-mrts)

## Populating the QMR Scope Picklist {#qmr-scope-picklist}

Add values to the _QMR Scope_ picklist to reflect your processes. For example, _Executive_, _Global_, _Regional_, or _Facility_. Users can select this value in the QMR template or on the _QMR_ record itself.

## Setting Up the QMR Object {#setting-up-qmr-object}

Add related object sections to the QMR object page layout for the _QMR Item_ and _QMR Task_ objects. This allows QMR process participants to manage these records during the course of the review.

## Setting Up the Management Review Template Object for QMRs {#setting-up-mrt}

Make the following changes to the _Management Review Template_ object to support the QMR process:

* Add the _Create Record From Template_ custom action to the object configuration.
* Add a _Management Review Template Item_ related object section on the _Management Review Template_ object page layout for the _QMR_ object type.

## Management Review Template Lifecycle {#mrt-lifecycle}

Add the _Create Record From Template_ user action to the _Management Review Template Lifecycle_ in an appropriate state so that users can create _QMRs_ from established templates.
