# About the Learner Homepage

The Learner Homepage or **My Learning** tab is a one-stop tab for Learners to work with training assignments and records. On this page, you can view your overall training status and complete your training assignments. Depending on your Vault's configuration, the Learner Homepage tab may be labeled as **My Learning**. If enabled by your Admin, you can view the Learner Homepage with a [mobile-optimized interface][1] on mobile devices.

## Announcements {#announcements}

The Announcements pane at the top of the Learner Homepage is a communication channel for training-focused messaging, delivering information about your organization's important internal campaigns or compliance reminders. Individual announcement timing and audience are determined by your Training Admin.

Use the arrows **<** **>** or navigation dots to manually navigate between announcements, or click **X** to dismiss the Announcements pane for the remainder of your current Vault session.

## Open Tab {#open_tab}

The _Open_ tab of the Learner Homepage displays your open _Training Assignments_. Select **Required Training**, **Self Enrolled Training**, or **All Training** in the left panel to filter by these criteria. You can further customize this tab's view options to suit your needs and preferences, including filtering, sorting, and grouping options. You can switch between view options using the icons above the assignment panel, and Vault remembers your view preferences if you navigate away and back to the Learner Homepage.

### Assignments View

The default view in the _Open_ tab, also available by clicking **Group by… > None**, displays all of your open training assignments in either a card view or a list view. Select the desired view on the right side of the navigation bar:

* {:#card-view}**Card View** : In this view, Vault displays training assignments as cards with relevant information, such as the assignment title, due date, approximate time required, and the type of training.
 * Click the curriculum name on the assignment card to navigate to the curriculum [detail page][2].
 * Hover over an assignment card to view additional information such as the source of the assignment and a list of the included documents. When configured, the **Begin Training** button appears with a dropdown to **Request Exemption**. The button may also be labeled **View Training** for evaluation or external assignments.
 * Hover over a classroom training assignment card to add a classroom training session to your calendar or view its waitlist status. The waitlist status may display how many spots are open, whether you are waitlisted, and what position you are on the waitlist.
* {:#list-view}**List View** : The list view displays assignments and associated data in list rows. Click an assignment name in this view to begin the training assignment or request an exemption, when available. Click the column headers to sort the display.

### Curriculum View {#curriculum-view}

Clicking the **Group by… > Curriculum** to display your assignments grouped by curriculum, rather than individually. This can be useful if you have a large number of assignments and you would like to complete a logically-grouped set of them before moving on to the next. For example, you may want to complete all of the assignments in the _Beginning Safety Concepts_ curriculum before moving on to the _Practical Safety Applications_ curriculum, even if you were assigned both at the same time. By default, curricula are sorted by their due date.

The curriculum card contains information such as the associated _Learner Role_, description, total estimated completion time, and a list of the included assignments. While only a few assignments will be shown on the card in this view, there may be more in the curriculum. _Training Assignments_ that you have received via Direct Assignment or via the Explore tab have separate curriculum cards.

You can start the first training assignment for the curriculum by clicking **Begin Training**. Evaluation and external assignments in certain in-progress states appear with the **View Training** button. Clicking **View Curriculum** on a curriculum card takes you into the curriculum page. On this page, you can see information about the curriculum and a sortable list of its individual assignments. A percentage progress bar in the upper right shows you how much training is left to complete within the curriculum. Clicking an assignment title expands its description. You can start an assignment from the list by hovering over it and clicking **Begin Training**.

By default, the curriculum detail page hides assignments that you have already completed. Click **Show completed assignments** to display them in the list. For assignments completed more than once, the curriculum page only displays the most recent completed instance of the assignment. Click **View Training** to review the training task for that assignment.

Note: The curriculum page does not display assignments that have a substitute assignment, and instead displays the substitute assignment. In some cases, an assignment may appear in multiple curriculum cards. The curriculum view is not available on the mobile version of the Learner Homepage.

### Learner Role View {#learner-role-view}

Click **Group by… > Learner Role** to display your assignments grouped by Learner Role. This can be useful if you have multiple learner roles assigned and you would like to focus training on one at a time. For example, you may want to complete training for a _New Employee_ role before a _Laboratory Personnel_ role, even if you were assigned both at the same time.

The learner role card contains information such as the associated _Learner Role_, description, total estimated completion time, and a list of the included assignments. While only a few assignments will be shown on the card in this view, there may be more in the learner role. _Training Assignments_ that you have received through Direct Assignment or the _Explore_ tab have a separate card.

You can start the first incomplete training assignment for the learner role by clicking **Begin Training**. Clicking **View Role** on a card takes you into the learner role detail page. On this page, you can see information about the learner role and a list of its curricula. A percentage progress bar for each curriculum shows you how much training is left to complete within that curriculum. A checkmark in the bar on the left side of the list indicates that you have completed the entire curriculum. Clicking a curriculum displays up to five training assignments within it. Curricula within the learner role view are displayed in an order defined by your Admin.

You can hide or show already-completed curricula in the list by clicking **Show Completed** or **Hide Completed**. Click **View Curriculum** to navigate to its [curriculum detail][2] page.

### Status Panel

The left panel shows the status of your open training assignments. Click **Overdue**, **Due Soon**, **Due Later**, or **No Due Date** to display only those items in the assignment area. You can also click the corresponding sections of the circle graph for the same function. Assignments are **Due Soon** if their due date is less than five days from the current date. If you have tasks in the Vault that are not training assignments, you can click **View Other Tasks** to navigate to your _My Tasks_ view.

From the drop-down menu, you can refine your view by assignment source. For example, you can select **Self Enrolled Training** to only view courses that you enrolled in via the _Explore_ tab.

Note: Assignments counted under the No Due Date category are those in which you’ve self-enrolled via the Explore tab, or which you’ve received through Direct Assignment.

Note that this section may be labeled differently in your Vault.

### Locked Assignments

If an assignment has a lock icon , it means the assignment has an unsatisfied prerequisite. Click into the assignment or hover over its card to view the assignments you must complete prior to beginning this locked assignment.

Some prerequisites are time-based, meaning Vault unlocks them after the indicated period of time. These assignments appear with an hourglass icon.

When a Training Assignment has multiple prerequisites, Vault shows only one of them on the Learner Homepage.

## History Tab {#history}

The _History_ tab lists data for all previously completed assignments.

Here you can [export][4] your completed training records, as well as easily check:
 * When you can expect to be reassigned any recurring training.
 * Which _Learner Role_ or _Curriculum_ each assignment was associated with.

Once you've completed an assignment, you may want to view the assignment's related Vault Library documents, or view more details about the assignment itself.

To view training documents directly, click on the assignment's **Name**. In the event the document you trained on has been superseded by the version you're currently viewing, Vault displays the latest Steady state version.

To view the *Training Assignment* record, select **View Training Assignment** from an assignment's Actions menu in the **Name** column. Here, you can additionally access the related training documents, as well as review aspects of the assignment such as quiz details.

## Explore Tab & Self-Enrollment {#explore}

The _Explore_ tab allows you to browse and self-enroll in training requirements that are not part of your training matrix. The tab's default view includes up to 1,000 of these requirements for browsing, and you can apply filters or search to locate additional courses to which you have access.

To enroll in a course, hover over its card and click **Enroll**. When you enroll in a course this way, the assignment appears in the _Open_ tab like your other assignments. You can limit your view to only the assignments in which you have self-enrolled by selecting **Self Enrolled Training** from the drop-down in the upper-left corner of the Learner Homepage.

Some assignments must be completed within a specified timeframe, or you may be allowed to complete the assignment at your own pace. Any assignments without a _Due Date_ are counted within their own category on the _Open_ tab.
