Veeva Quality provides the Related Batches application section, which lets users associate Batch records to a quality process record by using pre-defined filters to search for Batch records to add and remove.

The Batch object is used across Quality processes. Associating Batch records to a quality process record using a related object section can be time-consuming. The special Related Batches section helps simplify this process by letting Admins configure default filters for Batch object fields that users can populate to narrow their search.

From the Related Batches section, users can add or remove up to 1,000 Batch records at once, and create new Batch records to add. For each Batch that users add or remove, Vault creates or deletes a join record connecting a process record to a Batch record.

Supported Objects

The Related Batches section is supported for all custom and standard objects in Quality that have a related custom or standard join object that connects to the Batch object. For instance, the Deviation object has a corresponding Deviation - Batch join object.

To configure the Related Batches section:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > [object] > Layouts, and select the applicable layout.
  2. Click Insert Section and select Related Batches as the section type.
  3. Optional: Update the Label and Name, select lifecycle states in which to display the section, and add Section Help.
  4. Select the Primary Record. This is the quality process object on which the section displays.
  5. Select the Join Object that connects the object selected as the Primary Record with the Batch object.
  6. Under Default Filters Selector, select the fields that will appear as default filters when users search for Batches to add or remove. You can also select a default Operator for each field.
  7. Click Done.
  8. Save the layout.

  • Read permission for the relevant process - Batch join object
  • Read permission for the Batch object
